Our knowledge enables change

Where biology, technology and hands-on operational experience meet — in every decision we make.

Cross-disciplines makes a difference

In our team, management, technology and biology are woven together within each individual team member. This means that when we design a solution, we understand the consequences for the fish, the process, and the bottom line — all at the same time. Our cross-disciplinary approach makes a difference.

WHY US

Experienced, from research to operations

Our team combines experience in management, teaching, technology, automation, process industry, RAS industry and biological operations.

We know what works in theory, and just as importantly, what works in practice.

How does research drive progress in aquaculture?

Research and development play an important role in understanding the biological and technical processes that shape modern aquaculture. By connecting scientific research with practical applications, we contribute knowledge that supports informed decisions, continuous improvement, and more sustainable production.

OUR CORE

Water quality is our core

With a PhD in biotechnology and water treatment, a master's degree in fish physiology and welfare, and an engineer with 20 years of automation experience in the process industry dedicated specifically to water quality solutions, we have built one of the strongest expert environments in the industry in biological nitrogen removal, water chemistry, and process optimisation — the very factors that determine whether a RAS facility succeeds or fails.

We Teach What We Know

A laboratory workspace with a microscope, bottles of water, a test tube rack, labeled papers, and a blue pen.

Through SmartAkva Learning Centre, we make knowledge accessible.

We provide dedicated courses, e-learning, and tailormade training programs, developed by leading experts in aquaculture farming and water treatment internationally. We don't just sell solutions; we build competence in our clients.

The value chain

From data to results.

Sensors collect data. Specialists turn it into recommendations. Training makes sure the team acts on it — every day, across the facility.
